Peacock Button Art

I love peacocks.  I love buttons.  It was only a matter of time before I was inspired to combine the two.  This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a little bit.   So I finally decided to give it form.  I love the end result.

MATERIALS:
5 x 7 canvas
Acrylic paint
Paint brush
Mod Podge
Color picture of a peacock (I did a Google image search and found hundreds!)
Hight temp. hot glue gun
High temp. hot glue gun sticks
Buttons

I printed an image of a peacock.  I then cut out and trimmed the photo to size, making sure it fit the 5 x 7 canvas.  Next, I covered the canvas in white acrylic paint. Once the canvas was completely dried, I used Mod Podge to adhere my peacock to the canvas, applying several coats of the Mod Podge to seal the image to the canvas.  Once the Mod Podge was completely dried, I used my trusty hot glue gun to embellish the peacock’s tail feathers with buttons of various shades, sizes and colors. It is difficult to see in this photo, but I also used tiny rhinestones to embellish the peacock’s crown. I love it!
