So, my most popular posts/tutorials are those about our cute little Minion friends. Well, here is another quick and simple idea to further “minion-ize” your Despicable Me Minion Birthday Party.
Ever wonder what to do with those old bedsheets? I say recycle them into a cool messenger bag!!
This bag was totally inspired by the WHITNEY SEWS MESSENGER BAG DIY . I cannot possibly improve on this video. It is thorough and easy to follow. I have never ever sewn a messenger bag before. This is my FIRST attempt. Her tutorial made it all possible.
I recycled vintage Batman flat sheet gifted to me by my mother-in-law.
Don’t be intimidated! Instead, be inspired!
Thank you Whitney!
The party is over and now you are stuck with more paper plates than any one household should have. Now what? Well, here is quick and simple fun craft for kids.

I recently made some invites for a Girl Scout event. I wanted to somehow incorporate the uniform worn by the Scouts (a white shirt and a vest) into the invite. I quickly realized this required that I learn how to make a shirt out of paper. I am NOT a fan of origami! I just can’t wrap my mind around the countless meticulous folds required in order to make something sorta recognizable. Well, I did some research, watched a couple of origami videos (torture!!!!) and experimented and practiced until I simplified the process and mastered making a paper shirt in 6 step!!! Yep, 6 STEPS!!!

My little one recently celebrated her 5th birthday. We had a Minion (from “Despicable Me) themed birthday party. One of my favorite birthday party games is pin the tail on the donkey. Well, here is my “minion-ized” (totally not a real word!!) version of the game: Pin the Eyes on the Minion!!
My little one is obsessed with the minions from Despicable Me (1 & 2). So much so that this year’s theme for her 5th birthday is….(drumroll please)…DESPICABLE ME MINIONS!
I have so many minion projects running amok in my head–everything from cupcakes, to piñatas, to balloons, to invites, to decorations.
Here is one that is super cute and super easy–THE MINION TWINKIE!! Because you can’t look at a Twinkie without thinking “hey, kinda shaped like a minion.”
I love peacocks. I love buttons. It was only a matter of time before I was inspired to combine the two. This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a little bit. So I finally decided to give it form. I love the end result. Continue reading
